Dr. William Korinek is a biotechnology executive, entrepreneur, and life sciences strategist with extensive experience spanning drug development, research and development, corporate strategy, and company building. As a member of the Dreavent team, he brings deep expertise in evaluating biotechnology investment opportunities, assessing development strategies, and supporting portfolio companies through critical stages of growth.

William is Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Astrocyte Pharmaceuticals, where he has led the company's growth since its founding in 2014. As a biotechnology entrepreneur, he has firsthand experience building an innovative therapeutics company, advancing drug development programs, raising capital, and navigating the strategic and operational challenges of the biotechnology industry.

Prior to Astrocyte, William spent nearly a decade at Pfizer, where he held a series of leadership positions in research and development, culminating in the role of Vice President of Worldwide R&D Business Operations. In this role, he led strategic planning and investment coordination across Pfizer's global R&D organization, overseeing investment priorities and resource allocation across multiple therapeutic areas and technology platforms.

Earlier in his career, William was an Engagement Manager at L.E.K. Consulting, advising approximately 40 life sciences companies, from emerging biotechnology startups to global pharmaceutical organizations, on corporate strategy, growth, and business development. He earned his Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Harvard University.

As Venture Partner of the Spain-US Biotech Fund, William contributes his experience as a biotechnology CEO, R&D executive, and strategic advisor to support investment evaluation, portfolio development, and long-term value creation across the Fund's biotechnology portfolio.
