Wendy Nelson, PhD

Dr. Wendy Nelson is a biotechnology executive with more than 25 years of experience spanning corporate development, business development, operations, project management, R&D, and strategic consulting. As a member of the Dreavent team, she brings deep expertise in evaluating biotechnology companies, supporting business growth, and connecting innovators with investors and strategic partners.

Throughout her career, Wendy has held leadership positions across biotechnology companies, CROs, and strategic advisory organizations, including serving as Chief Business Officer at Danforth Advisors, where she supported the growth and strategic development of hundreds of biopharmaceutical companies. She has also held leadership roles at Alkermes, Alantos Pharmaceuticals, LeadingBiotech, and several early-stage biotechnology organizations.

Wendy is the Founder and President of the Boston Biotech Forum, one of the region's leading biotechnology networking platforms, created to foster collaboration among entrepreneurs, investors, pharmaceutical companies, and industry executives. The Forum has expanded from Boston to San Francisco, New Haven, Philadelphia, and San Diego, creating a powerful network of more than 1,500 biotechnology and investment professionals.

She also serves on the Board of Directors of SciShield, is a Business Advisor to ModernVivo, and a Venture Partner at Waterman Ventures. Wendy holds a Master's degree in Engineering and a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences from Brown University.

As Venture Partner of the Spain-US Biotech Fund, Wendy contributes her extensive industry expertise, strategic network, and business development experience to support investment evaluation, portfolio growth, and the Fund's engagement with the Boston biotechnology ecosystem.
