Brian Gallagher is a venture capital executive and biotechnology leader with more than 25 years of experience spanning venture investing, business development, corporate strategy, operations, drug discovery, and pharmaceutical R&D. As a member of the Dreavent team, he contributes extensive expertise in evaluating biotechnology companies, building investment portfolios, and supporting the growth of innovative life sciences businesses.

Brian has held senior leadership and investment roles at some of the industry's most respected organizations, including Abingworth, where he led the firm's Boston office, and SR One, the venture capital arm of GlaxoSmithKline. Throughout his venture investing career, he has led investments in numerous biotechnology companies, served on multiple corporate boards, and worked alongside leading venture capital firms and global pharmaceutical companies to advance innovative therapeutics.

Before transitioning into venture capital, Brian held leadership roles in corporate development, operations, and R&D at Sirtris Pharmaceuticals, Alantos Pharmaceuticals, and Eisai. At Sirtris, he led corporate development, operations, and post-merger integration following the company's $720 million acquisition by GlaxoSmithKline. Prior to that, he played key operational and R&D roles at Alantos Pharmaceuticals through its $300 million acquisition by Amgen, while earlier in his career at Eisai, he led multiple oncology and immunology drug discovery programs.

Brian currently serves as Chairman of Zenon Biotech and Cumulus Oncology, and as a Board Director of Slate Bio. He also serves on several investment and scientific advisory boards supporting biotechnology innovation and venture development. He holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Michigan and a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts.

As Venture Partner of the Spain-US Biotech Fund, Brian contributes his extensive investment experience, scientific expertise, and strategic perspective to support investment evaluation, portfolio development, and long-term value creation across the Fund's biotechnology portfolio.
