Dr. Elaine V. Jones is a seasoned venture capital executive and biotechnology leader with more than 20 years of experience investing in life sciences companies. As a member of the Dreavent team, she brings extensive expertise in identifying, evaluating, and supporting innovative biotechnology companies, combining deep scientific knowledge with broad experience in investment, board service, and strategic leadership.

Throughout her investment career, Elaine has held senior investment roles at some of the industry's leading venture organizations, including Pfizer Ventures, where she served as Vice President of Venture Capital, EuclidSR Partners as General Partner, and SR One, the venture capital arm of GlaxoSmithKline. Across these roles, she has led and managed investments spanning multiple therapeutic areas and emerging biotechnology platforms.

Elaine has served on the boards of more than 35 life sciences companies and currently serves as Director of CytomX, HBM Healthcare Investments, NextCure, and Myeloid Therapeutics. She is also Chair of Gritstone bio and Mirion, and serves on the advisory boards of the Novartis Venture Fund and the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT), reflecting her broad leadership across venture investing, corporate governance, and biotechnology innovation.

Before entering venture capital, Elaine held leadership roles in scientific licensing and research at SmithKline Beecham, where she focused on strategic licensing opportunities across multiple therapeutic areas. She holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Pittsburgh and completed her postdoctoral research at the National Institutes of Health. She is the author of numerous scientific publications and an inventor on multiple patents.

As Venture Partner of the Spain-US Biotech Fund, Elaine contributes her extensive venture-investing, board-leadership, and scientific expertise to support investment evaluation, portfolio development, and long-term value creation across the Fund's biotechnology portfolio.
